Happy 5th Gotcha Day Dear Lucy

Happy 5th Gotcha Day Dear Lucy

“Who wants to party with me?” Asks the Lucy as she stares intently at my laptop.

“It’s my 5th gotcha day, mommy, time to celebrate and party,” She nudges closer to me on the couch. She places a paw on my lap, and I know I’m in for it.

But is there a party?  Does anyone even know?  Come on, cut the crap!” She smacks me with her paw. “All I hear are crickets.  I’ve sat ideally by as found everything else to do instead of sharing my story with my friends.  I didn’t complain, too much. I get it your overwhelmed and working very long hours pretty much every day of the week.  But there comes a time to put your paw down, and today’s the day.”

I swallow hard. I know she’s right.  I can’t believe how I’ve abandoned this blog. I’m shocked at how long it’s been since I last posted. It wasn’t intentional, it just happened, and I miss it. A lot.

I remember back 5 years ago today. Not only was I beyond happy to welcome Lucy into our hearts and our home, but I couldn’t wait to tell and share her story with my online friends, just as I shared Alex’s story. I want to try to get back into the swing, but I think it will be a while.  But know I miss all of you, as does Lucy.

“Ahhh mmmm,” Lucy clears her throat.  “I was talking here!” She scolds. “Don’t you go hijacking my post mommy.” She smacks my leg again for emphasis.

Now start typing she demands, “Five years ago today, I went on a major adventure with two crazy characters. They took me to a strange place, and then a few years later to a different strange place.  And while not every day was purr-fect, I wouldn’t change a thing (although I would like to get lunch). Five years goes by so fast, and I even though my mom has been a blogging failure, I love my friends too.  Thank’s for welcoming me into your hearts five years ago too!”
